APT Urgent Care is your neighborhood solution for quick, reliable medical care for non-life-threatening conditions. No appointment necessary. From flu symptoms to minor injuries, our medical team is equipped to diagnose and treat a wide range of urgent health concerns — all without the long ER wait.
A good time to visit the urgent care is typically when a person is either feeling ill or “under the weather” caused by a minor condition such as a viral upper respiratory infection also known as the common cold, influenza, strep throat, COVID-19 infection, seasonal allergies or allergic reaction, skin infection and abscess; or for minor injuries such as joint sprain, muscle strain, skin laceration, and uncomplicated broken (fractured) bones.
Some urgent care centers may even offer to prescribe temporary medication refills for chronic disease management and ancillary services such as occupational medicine. Urgent care centers are simply meant to be used as an alternate resolution for acute medical issues that don’t necessarily require an emergency visit and that needs to be addressed immediately but cannot wait days or weeks to be seen by a primary care provider (family practitioner).
Below is a table that compares and contrasts detailing the differences in the services offered by an urgent care, emergency room, and primary care.
Key Features | Urgent Care (APT) | Emergency Room | Primary Care |
Hours of Operation | Open 7 days a week. Weekdays are typically 12 hours. Weekends may be reduced hours. May close or have reduced hours on major holidays. | 24/7 365 days in a year. Never closes unless there is an internal disaster. | Typical weekday work hours – 8 am to 5 pm. Close on weekends. May offer after hours and are usually closed on major holidays. |

Reasons to visit | Acute minor illnesses and injuries. May have ancillary services such as Occupational Medicine Service (UDS, BAT, PFT, DOT PE, etc.) | Life or limb threatening conditions. | Routine checks and chronic condition management. |

Diagnostic Equipments | POCT and PCR devices, X-ray, EKG, US (facility dependent), etc. | Advanced devices and equipment such as X-Ray, CT, MRI, US, EKG, Cardiac Monitors, Ventilators, etc. | May have POCT devices |
Waiting Time | Minimal wait time upon arrival. Average 30 minutes and up to 1 hour depending on the volume. | Varies by location. May take up to several hours. | By appointment. Usually minimal wait. However, it typically requires scheduling days or weeks in advance. |

Priority | First come first serve. | Triage by “Level of Acuity”. Essentially the dire the condition the sooner it is attended to. | By Appointment. Schedule days and weeks in advance. Sometimes months. |
Location | Standalone or Retail Centers | Standalone, Retail, or attached to a hospital | Building Suites or Retail Centers |
Providers & Healthcare workers | Physician, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Nurses, MAs, Rad Techs. | Emergency, Critical Care, Surgical, Radiology, Specialist, Hospitalist, Respiratory, Social Worker, etc. | Physician, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Nurses, MAs. |

APT Urgent Care is proposing an alternate solution to the challenges the general consumers face with insurance agencies and high priced healthcare visits. The practice is prepared to offer competitive and cost effective services to individuals at an affordable flat rate.
No copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket expense… well you will be paying out-of-pocket, of course. However, no surprise bills are involved. The patient will be able to enjoy optimal compassionate care while being free of the feeling of hands reaching deep into their pockets.
Please note that this is not a solution to replace your everyday healthcare insurances. We still believe that medical insurance is needed for emergency visits, surgical procedures, or long hospital stays where charges can range in the tens of thousands of dollars. It is in the aforementioned situations where one would seemingly get the “bang for their buck” for simple and minor conditions that don’t require an emergency visit and you won’t have to worry about deductibles needing to be met.
To bring a simple and affordable pricing option to the community providing urgent care through a per visit low cost flat rate program.
To provide employers an alternate urgent care solution for their employees needing evaluation and treatment for work related injuries and related or non-related work illnesses outside of using workers comp insurance.
