Dr. Oluwabukola Shoaga was born and raised in the vibrant city of Houston, Texas. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University, where her passion for medicine began to flourish. Dr. Shoaga continued her educational journey at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where she earned her medical degree. Following her time in medical school, Dr. Shoaga completed her residency in Houston, further honing her skills and knowledge in the field of medicine. Currently, she serves as a dedicated hospitalist, providing expert care to her patients.
Outside of her demanding profession, Dr. Shoaga cherishes moments spent with her family and indulges in the pleasure of savoring delectable cuisine. An interesting facet of her life is her ownership of a modest clothing line, showcasing her diverse interests and talents.
A certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with over a decade of experience in emergency medicine, Idris Shoaga is the co-founder of Apt Urgent Care, established in October 2020 as the first urgent care clinic in Manvel, Texas. Born in Houston and raised in Missouri City, Texas, he earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and completed his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at Texas Tech Health Science Center.
Outside of clinical practice, he enjoys traveling, sports—particularly basketball and football—and spending time with family and friends. He maintains a positive outlook on life, no matter how challenging it may get, and is deeply driven by a passion for innovation, healthcare accessibility, intergenerational connection, and educating others on overall well-being. He is also in pursuit of understanding the naturalistic healing powers of behavioral and herbal medicine and safely and responsibly applying them to preventative and primary care. His guiding motto: “It is better to believe and be right than not believe and be wrong.”
