1. Vision
Drivers are required to have at least 20/40 vision in each eye, either with or without correction. Another requirement is to have at least 70” peripheral vision in the horizontal meridian.

2. Hearing
Drivers must be able to hear what is called forced whisper at a distance of 5 feet, with or without a hearing aid. This equates to an average hearing loss in the better ear of less than 40 dB.
